Picking up from where Contentment In Everyday Life leaves off, Joy In Everyday Life starts with the foundation of trust in basic goodness and explores the joy that can arise from working with others.

This five-week class starts with the foundation of trust in basic goodness. Starting from the ground of basic goodness we begin to discover the confidence and personal energy to go forward on the journey. In this course we explore the Mahayana Buddhist teachings on bodhicitta (awakened heart) and compassion. These provide the inspiration for a life of cheerful discipline and freedom from doubt that matures as joy and bravery. Such joy is symbolized by the Lion, the second of the four dignities or totemic animals of the Shambhala tradition. Classes include meditation, contemplation, group discussion and dialogue.

This class is part of the Way of Shambhala core curriculum.
Prerequisites: Contentment in Everyday Life class or consent of the instructors.
