The Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center was founded in the late 1970s. Its over 40 current members contribute to the Center financially, as volunteers, and by engaging the path in the world, in everyday life. The Center is an all-volunteer organization and is supported by member dues, program fees, and donations. The Shambhala Council is a group of members who guide the operations and policies of the Center under the direction of the worldwide Shambhala Global Services.

Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center is open to everyone who is interested in learning about, and practicing, our enlightened potential as human beings – what in Shambhala we call our ‘basic goodness.’ You can try meditation at our weekly open sessions. You can refine your meditation by learning about your relationship to your own mind. Shambhala offers a series of meditation training levels and complementary courses that explore how we relate to our own experience, to others and the world.
