Please note: This weekend begins at 9am on Friday, March 23.

Great Eastern Sun and Windhorse mark the begining of the Shambhala Sacred Path, which introduces advanced warriorship teachings that extend the basic mindfulness-awareness meditation practices introduced in the Shambhala Training Weekends I-V.  These teachings and practices are based on a societal vision and aspiration to help the world.

This level of training cultivates one's dignity and natural gifts that are able to widen one's sphere of compassionate and practical influence.

This three-day weekend program (all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday) introduces us to how to see the Great Eastern Sun, the primordial energy and brilliance that is the basic of all that exists.  You will also receive and begin studying the root text, The Letter of the Black Ashe.  Together we will explore the pith instructions on raising windhorse, a practice for opening the heart and refreshing one's confidence.

Preregistration (and payment) is strongly recommended; this program may be oversubscribed and have a waiting list.

Prerequisite: Rigden Weekend, or graduates of Shambhala Training Weekend V who plan to complete Rigden Weekend in the  near future.

The suggested offering for the entire weekend is $190 sustaining; $230 for enriching, plus a materials fee, see below.
The suggested offering for the Windhorse program only is $125 sustaining; $155 enriching, plus a materials fee, see below.
The suggested offering for Great Eastern Sun only is $100.
Our Standard Generosity policy applies.

If you are able, please consider registering with the enriching price. By offering a little more, you help make programs accessible to others. Thank you!

Materials Fee: There is a materials fee of $65 (for the root text and commentary used during Windhorse) which is included in the cost of the program.  This is not subject to the generosity policy but please let us know if support is needed to cover the materials fee.

Please Note:  The Great Eastern Sun portion of the program will run from 9am to 5pm on Friday, March 23.  Windhorse begins Friday at 7pm.  If you have already completed Great Eastern Sun and wish to take only the Windhorse portion, please contact [email protected]
