Shambhala Day

    You are warmly invited to join us for Shambhala Day 2018. On Shambhala Day we gather as a community to practice and celebrate the New Year according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. We express our appreciation, not only for our teachers and teachings, but also for our connection to each other and the basic goodness that binds us together.  In addition, at this year's celebration, we will be welcoming several new leadership council members and new members.  The events on Saturday, February 17th will be as follows:

    • By 9:15am - Community arrives at the Center
    • 9:30 - Lhasang in the Main Shrine Room (MSR)
    • 9:45 - Recitation of the Shambhala Sadhana in the MSR
    • 10:45 -11am  - Short break [tea/coffee & snacks available to have during next activity]
    • 11 am - Noon - Director’s remarks, Council retirement oaths, new Council member oaths and new membership oaths.    At this time, the children will break-out into the community room for a special activity 
    • 12:05pm  - Brief break. Children re-join rest of sangha in shrine room
    • 12:15 - Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche’s New Year address, followed by fundraising for the center of the mandala, Shambhala International.
    • ~12:45  - Light-fare food and drinks; family-friendly, socializing and toasts
    • 2pm Celebration ends
