It's SUMMER time! and we’re taking our monthly Community Compassion Practice outdoors!  This Sunday, our practice will be held at Pulaski Park, around the corner from the Center, next to the Academy of Music. Join us as we work for a more compassionate world!

Compassion Practice provides the means to open our hearts with the aspiration to alleviate the suffering of others. We contemplate the Four Immeasurables - loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity – as a path for developing and strengthening these feelings for ourselves and others. Over time, this practice gradually erodes the barriers that we have created between ourselves and the outside world.

Please join us as we come together to propagate and celebrate our very real capacity to generate peace, already, in the here and now. This is the peace we offer to our city and to the world. This public sitting is a proclamation of our commitment to nonaggressive resistance, to ending all forms of oppression and to extend the merits of mindfulness meditation practice into the world.

Instruction will be provided at the start of the practice. You may engage in compassion practice or just sit with the intention of creating a more just and compassionate world. In the case of inclement weather, this practice will be held at the Center.

Event sponsored by the PVSC Social Justice Group.

Bring a cushion or chair, water, sunscreen and a hat.
