Meditation The basis of our practice is mindfulness-awareness meditation - the very same approach to working with mind taken by Shakyamuni Buddha 2,500 years ago. The practice provides a gentle and totally accessible means for uncovering the mind's natural clarity, flexibility and strength, and for developing true compassion for both others as well as ourselves. Read a short talk about this fundamental practice by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche, the eldest son of Trungpa, Rinpoche and the spiritual head of Shambhala.
Shambhala offers a sequence of meditation and study programs that lead the student to an understanding of the vast and profound nature of the path. Please read about the Shambhala Buddhist path here.
